They had an obvious use before all stat potions and liniments got given a shared cooldown timer.
In that old system you would not waste a full time critted defense Pot, when you just wanted to quickly have a look into the RvR zones to check if there are some enemy players. There you would then only invest a small 5 min Pot. And only when you would find that the zone has enough action in it, you would take out the Potion Seller's strongest Potion.
The strange part is that the 5 min potions are not granting a bigger stat bonus, compared to the way regeneration Pots work. Those will give you higher HP regeneration ticks per second on the Pots made without the duration extender and smaller HP regeneration ticks per second on the ones with extended duration.
Going by that logic, the Potions with less duration should provide slightly higher stats.

Yeah, lol.derKleineKerl wrote: Tue Feb 24, 2026 9:53 am Seems gunlinger is one of the person who like to scam new people with fleeting poptions in the ah. I mean If people dont want to scam they would sell the fleeting potions way cheaper....
Would be nice If this potions would be deleted from the game. At least for armor and stat potions.

Yeah, lol. The last time i sold anything on AH was 2 month ago or so when i sold Liniments i had no need for way under market price to not have to send them around toons.
And yeah lol. Seems like bulk buying whole section of same type Pots and Linis in AH should be prevented by timed lockout to certain amounts per account to prevent the good old
''i buy off every single Item of Category/Effect type X, put it back in with a limited amount to manipulate request and offer status while significantly raising the sell price, to cheese out a win margin''
Want to play your good old WoW AH Wall street simulater? Then do it. But do not complain about your lacking differentiation skills when it comes to Fleeting and Lasting potions while bulk buying, with the weakest possible straw men argument of ''scamming NEW players''.
Putting potions of type X with name X into the AH instead of potion Y with name Y must be clearly a Scam.
If only there would be a better way for new players to get potions. Oh wait. They get flooded with potions fitting to their current tier and level by the added Quests rewards and reworked Killquest Npcs.
The one thing totally new players with zero AH experience do not have is *Drum roll*............... GOLD to buy overpriced potions in the Auction House.
Man i should change my lv 200 apo and culti to Talisman making. The one true thing where you can actually rip off newbies whit, when they buy +2 to 6 stat talis for their lv 5 gear for 2 Gold each, just buy new talis as soon as they level up. again and again and again...
"Hello, Potion Seller, I am going into battle and I want your strongest potions."
"My potions are too strong for you, traveler. And also i am no longer allowed to sellthem in the Auctionhouse since a bunch of wannabe brokers called them SCAM because they accidentally bought 200+ 5min ones instead of 30 min ones''

Leveling apothecary is 1 evening max, even with this small inconvenience.leftayparxoun wrote: Tue Feb 24, 2026 5:35 pmBrakh wrote: Tue Feb 24, 2026 1:13 pm Seems like a easy fix, just block their creation possibility. They are only for scam purposes, no real value other than that.
They are most certainly needed when raising your Apothecary skill level.
If they were disabled, people would have to level it up with either heal or AP potion materials which they'd have to know in advance to Cultivate with.
If they don't, they will have to regrind those specific seeds for all lvl brackets (i.e. lvl 1 seed, lvl 25, lvl 50, etc.).
