Backlash can be absorbed, relentless can be parried and absorbed, DA can be absorbed, touch of palsy can be parried and absorbed (or you just stop moving).
There are builds and ways to fight those regen focused builds and the harder part will be on your side, that's for sure.
Just remember to always use your magic absorb on CD, switch to the best tactic setup and keep an eye on your debuffs and their buffs.
Seeing a big Trend with Solo Regen Chosen.

You know how you deal with useless deftard specs?tomolyons wrote: Sun Dec 14, 2025 11:58 amNo the chosen in itself is not OP. Regen is OP. Take the regen away and all of a sudden rhe chosen would not be OP. But his abilities do not coincide with regen at all for balance. Hence making the chosen with regen OP.M0rw47h wrote: Sun Dec 14, 2025 2:45 am Just because YOUR build can't kill something doesn't mean that something is OP. Maybe IB needs a nerf, if you're struggling ONLY with chosen?![]()
Imagine if IB still had Grumble N mutter? Paired with regen all I would have to do is stack defensive like the chosen and I would be unkillable solo too. Or if I had tactics or an ability that deals free damage? I just don't support any class that deals free damage based on a dice roll.
Just walk away, or punt them away. They have no charge, no gap closer, nothing.
...and removal of Grumble was a poor joke imho.
Re: Seeing a big Trend with Solo Regen Chosen.
Chosen/kotbs has in addition to regen on gear aura which when maxed is 180hp/3s regen, they have passive auras granting resistance and so on, they would be hard to kill 1vs1 even without regen on gear if going def spec.tomolyons wrote: Sun Dec 14, 2025 11:58 amNo the chosen in itself is not OP. IB 2H on the other was gutted for solo when its signature spell( GnM) was first nerfed, and subsequently removed from the game, 2H IB is paper made compared to other 2 handed tanks( still waiting for devs to fullfill their promise of restoring it, real IB players never forget this grudge).
Going 2H IB is automatically gimping yourself for solo roaming, the extra crit and armor pen is not enough to overcome def specs, SnB IB is really the only serious roaming spec for solo IB these days. It has enough dps to kill none detaunt healers 1vs1 and significantly improved defences which makes it effective( oathstone is free dps, 700 dmg on reflect iirc).
Lastly, when fighting any class like that you have to be flexible with potions and tactics, don't use standard tactics/potions vs every enemy but adapt accordingly to what the situation demands.
VS Chosen? Use a spirit res pot( you don't need armor pot vs magic classes). It stacks with res lini for extra cheese. I don't recommend it since no Chosen will ever fight you again but hey vs cheese specs cheese is allowed, fire with fire etc. Consider using focused offence ( yes on SnB spec, you don't need Rugged tactic vs a Chosen).
Re: Seeing a big Trend with Solo Regen Chosen.
It's funny because I used to solo roam with gilgams build and to be fair it did work. Again depending who I was fighting. I just wanted to really get to grips and learn a 2h IB. But like you say they have been nerfed with the removal of Grumble n mutter.Farrul wrote: Mon Dec 15, 2025 9:25 amChosen/kotbs has in addition to regen on gear aura which when maxed is 180hp/3s regen, they have passive auras granting resistance and so on, they would be hard to kill 1vs1 even without regen on gear if going def spec.tomolyons wrote: Sun Dec 14, 2025 11:58 amNo the chosen in itself is not OP. It's the same with BG and why I stopped playing mine. Does great vs physical melee classes but gets tooled by magic dmg classes (SW Fester, AMs, WH BAL, etc.) unless you go super deftard parry/toughness but you hit for 30.tomolyons wrote: Mon Dec 15, 2025 2:41 pmIt's funny because I used to solo roam with gilgams build and to be fair it did work. A tip you keep hearing is + Spirit mitigation. You want to end up with 40% mit after a resis debuff so you need to go over it by a decent amount if you plan to solo. Also, not sure if you neglect it, but Toughness counters the +[main stat] contribution. These and a bubble (Runic Shield) and you're in a much better spot.
All classes have complaints like this (WP Guilty Soul being magical vs Dok tactics being physical, etc.). The fundamental issue is resistance/armor bypass, the magic resistance cap being too low at 40% (should be higher, start at 50%) before diminishing returns, and the removal of key defining abilities for each class (Chosen Crippling Strikes, IB Grumble&Mutter).
They do not want 2H tanks to have fun in this game. You probably forgot they wanted to remove Guard from 2H tanks, reduce the guard damage mit to 25% (from 50%), etc. etc. so I wouldn't hold my breath on anything to improve the fun playing them. You hope for a mistake that buffs your class since the team is too small to hotfix it, like the impact Guilty Soul has on WP 2H, etc.
