[Suggestion] Battlefield Objectives

Overhaul - Battlefield Objectives (BO)

Issue I: Poor Rewards for BOs
The rewards for capturing BOs or running supply boxes are significantly lower than rewards from player kills.

Suggestion:

- Greatly increase the renown, experience, and influence rewards for capturing BOs.
- Successfully capturing a BO should grant 1 Warcrest.
- Players killed near a BO should drop 1 extra Warcrest.

Supply Box Overhaul:

Players can carry up to 5 supply boxes.
Picking up a new box resets the 6-minute timer.
Rewards scale with the number of boxes turned in:

1 box: 500 RP + 1 Warcrest
2 boxes: 1,100 RP + 2 Warcrests
3 boxes: 1,650 RP + 3 Warcrests
4 boxes: 2,200 RP + 4 Warcrests
5 boxes: 2,750 RP + 5 Warcrests

New Feature: War Scrap (Enemy Supplies)

- Dropped enemy supplies can be collected as "War Scrap" (stack up to 5, same timer).
- Turn in at any friendly BO for RP/XP/Influence and 1 Warcrest per scrap.
- War scrap does not contribute to keep leveling.

Issue II: BOs Are Irrelevant During Keep Sieges
BOs serve little purpose during keep sieges beyond minor support (e.g. gate repair, siege ammo).

Suggestion:
Give BOs a strategic role through powerful siege-impacting buffs:

- Captured BOs reduce/increase ram damage: 25% / 50% / 75% / 99%
- Captured BOs reduce/increase defender oil/cannon damage: 12.5% / 25% / 37.5% / 50%
- Captured BOs reduce/increase attacker cannon damage: 12.5% / 25% / 37.5% / 50%
- Captured BOs reduce/increase damage taken by the keep lord: 25% / 50% / 75% / 99%

Quality-of-Life Suggestion:

- Box runners should only lose supplies on death, not when taking damage. This change would make it more feasible to bring supplies into besieged keeps for repairs.

Issue III (optional): BOs Aren't Fun
BOs currently lack interesting mechanics.

Suggestions to Enhance BOs:

- Reduce warcamp-BO portal cooldown to allow faster return to action.
- Create a return portal at each captured BO, letting allied players teleport back to the warcamp.
  • 6-second cast time, no portal cooldown (lots of players can get back to the warcamp fast)
  • Interacting with the portal drops all supplies
BO Aura Buffs:

- Captured BOs provide a small HoT to allies within 30ft (similar to Engineer's Keg).
- Grant passive buffs (like increased AP regen or health regen) in a 50ft radius, similar to guild banners.

I would say the biggest problem with capping BOs and running supply is not that its not rewarding enough, its that its boring. How many rewards are needed to make something boring fun?

imo remove boxes and bring back guards on BOs, add lock timer that scale with AAO and some meaningful purpose when hold bos

My personal criticism for BOs is that they are too easy to flip, and so there is also no point sending whole groups to control them.

A single WH or WE can flip a BO right after you captured it, which I think is rather dumb. I'd like to see more defenses or requirements for capturing BOs and so maybe it would also encourage 6-men or 12-men to fight for BOs while Warbands fight.

Agreed. I remembeer on live BOs used to have npc guards and/or entered a locked state for a short timeframe after they got tapped.

Fair enough, and I agree. I maybe ran 10 supplies in my whole journey from rr0 to rr80+, because it's a tedious, unrewarding task. I wouldn't mind completely removing the box running and using a different system for keep leveling. Nonetheless, we still have a problem that BO's are irrelevant during keep sieges, which has to be adressed.

I agree and I do think anything that gives more war crests is good so I should have said im all for this. Some of the best fights I was in was guild fight in Reikland manor on live, when you had wb vs wb fights at every bo and had to hold while people had to do sc/pqs, just dont have the pop for that now though

Bonuses from captured BO’s, lock timer, guards - some really good ideas to counter ”everyone’s favourite” blob vs blob gameplay.

The mechanics that live version worked from the start is pretty solid. On live didnt worked cos there were constant stalemate which was holding down the live version of endgame aka fighting and taking forts and then going to city.
On ror forts and cities are out of the campaign and are pretty trivial nowadays so we could bring back the original zone lock idea.

Bring BOs with champs and guards so solo player should not take BO, while you need at least 3 ppl. Add lock timer that scale with aao. As much aao the side had as lower the enemy BO lockout will be while your realm lockout will increase. Give some automatic resource generation while holding BO. Add some penalty if u attack keep but all BOs are hold by enemy.

I would love scens to be introduced into the zone locking somehow but that is more complicated to brainstorm and before that devs should fix thier flaws
