On live you got toughness reduction then absorb base non crit dmg.

The problem with absorbs are that they do not scale at all with stats so with escalating damage from more rr and better gear they become weaker and weaker.

Still some are quite free and still usefull aka rp/zealot proc absorb from direct healing.

Imo willpower (that not scale with healing any good) should increase bubble potency so wp will be more usefull

Use, Tzeench's Grip and avoid Ritual of Superiority. I tried a build with that ritual and the cookie cutter Alchemy and Dark Rites spec is better.

Absorb is still after toughness on RoR. It has to be as toughness is factored in before the primary stat multiplier when calculating attack damage. Yes it would be nice if the absorb procs had some small contribution from Willpower to help them scale.

I haven't tested crits vs absorb yet to see whether the crit damage is calculated first and then absorbed or if the crit damage is based on what didn't get absorbed.

Yes that's why a good timed Absorb shiel can pretty much negate a BW/Sorc rotation...

Yes that's why a good timed Absorb shiel can pretty much negate a BW/Sorc rotation...

Unless there's been a change from live I've not noticed, toughness is considered for Absorbs.

Ritual of Superiority seems pretty nice to me.

In a RvR context (full AoE damage & heal), you have a 500 absorb shield that proc every 2/2.5 second (depends on the frequency of damage received).

Great info, thank you all for sharing. Do abilities that are labeled as unblockable damage bypass absorb?
