the game textures are too low for bump goodness.

Now what about adding normal maps to the game. Even primitive level like bump-mapping. Is it even possible with WHO render and engine ?
Some time have passed.

maybe i am wrong, but normal and other maps should be defined in mesh(nif file) to work properly.

and with current lowres it's really better to not even try :). Upscale is pretty ugly.

Wrong. We don't even know how render works in this game. Engine is Gamebryo, must be version 3. RoR devs won't tell us, nobody else knows for now.

saupreusse wrote: Mon Apr 18, 2016 3:04 pm well, i found it out myself! IT IS POSSIBLE! normal maps must be named filename_normal.
should work in theory, wasnt able to try it out though. looking forward to do so in time.
I'm very interested in trying this out, but without knowing the exact procedure for extracting/compressing texture files, I can't do anything...

Is there a place to find those informations ? Thx

Considering using tools from SWTOR. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/ ... 1918317239 SWTOR Extraction Guide

WHO engine is different and older that SWTOR.
Idk if you can even replace mesh. If meshes are even gr2, I didn't see any gr2 there. I saw some encoded meshes. While wepons and texture you can see and grab them. To replace something like 3d poly with new model is completely other level. While devs don't share their tools and there is completely 0 no information about properly working normal and bump mapping, and fan made scripts for WHO are outdated, and no working tools for proper level of modding game. I don't see any point to make new models or textures for WHO. Since WHO engine is 12 years old I would suggest making some Warhammer mod in Unreal Engine 4 game like Mordhau.
