Why change the values on buffs and debuffs? It seems it's working already. I like the whole "if it ain't broke don't fix it" mentallity. Is there a fundamental issue here?
Is there a problem with how the old values are? 378 standard max resist buffs/debuff has been there forever. 120 max standard ability buff/debuff for stats has been there forever. With some few exceptions. Seems like a lot of unnecessary work.

Reduce aoe buffs/debuffs, increase ST buffs/debuffs.
A very logical change.
We are increasing ST potency and reducing mindless aoe.

I read the patch notes. Again is this really needed? Is there a fundamental issue here? Do aoe buffs/debuffs NEED to be dampened and ST buffs/debuffs NEED to be raised? Or is it fine where it is. It's been like this from the beginning, so why change it? Just because you can?
I guess what I am getting at is what do you hope to accomplish by changing these values?

Re: [PTS] Patch Notes 07/09/2025
One of the complaints from pretty much day 1 of the game was that loads of single target buffing and debuffing abilities felt pointless to use when there were equally-as-strong AoE buffs and debuffs in the game which were often easier to apply. Now with these changes - 17 years overdue lol - even if there is someone handing out AoE buffs and debuffs it might now be worth also spending a GCD on a single-target buff/debuff to get a stronger effect applied to a specific target.footpatrol2 wrote: Wed Sep 10, 2025 8:39 pm I read the patch notes. While I'm all in favor of reducing AOE spam I will note in the case of SM our blade enchants work both ways and two out of three of them have been reduced and that includes the only really useful one of Nature's Blade. Can I get 1.5x or 2x buff modifier if we only trigger it with a single target ability?Omegus wrote: Wed Sep 10, 2025 10:18 pmOne of the complaints from pretty much day 1 of the game was that loads of single target buffing and debuffing abilities felt pointless to use when there were equally-as-strong AoE buffs and debuffs in the game which were often easier to apply. P.S. Heaven's Blade may actually be useful now with the general resist reduction but that is TBD.

Heaven's blade and wrath of hoeth stack, at least on live it did. It's one of the few exceptions. I don't know if RoR changed this. So that's 252 + 378 =630 spirit resist debuff, pretty beefy debuff.Aethilmar wrote: Wed Sep 10, 2025 11:02 pmWhile I'm all in favor of reducing AOE spam I will note in the case of SM our blade enchants work both ways and two out of three of them have been reduced and that includes the only really useful one of Nature's Blade. Re: [PTS] Patch Notes 07/09/2025
Heaven's blade and wrath of hoeth are stacking.
252+378 resist debuff rn. Never looked like fair or balanced to be honest.
First of all tanks should not hit any magic dmg because they are not wizard or magus.
Thats the point magic is better because the ppl usually have less protection from resist than armor.
Then you give magic dmg to tanks, and you give them full resist debuff to be totally unfair and unbalanced.
So they just have to build hight str, they dont need ws at all, they have lot of defensive and cc ability and heavy armor. And taadaaam you just make an unbalanced game again.
Tanks should not outperformance dps dmg. See the chosen dps on pts…
Ofcousre we have another melee dps who has access full magic dmg build with insane denensivity and survivity and they can go stealth too. Maybe you know now they are the welf.
Clap clap.
Those who think its oke. What do you think if all the ranged dps get heavy armor absorn self heal def abilities and they can aslo can go stealth. Would be fun. One class have everything? Think about it.
Iam really waiting the mdps and rdps rebalance.
And SC rebalance!!!
Iam also really hoping iam not the only one who see these abominations.

These debuffs should not stack together (both are in the "Ability" category) and both have the NonStacking flag in the ability database.
Are you sure they are stacking together in the PTS? If so please bugreport it.

Re: [PTS] Patch Notes 07/09/2025
If i recall correctly there was even a note in some patch which mention that those not stacking is intended (definitely remember the drama upon that just not sure when exactly it was and cba to look up). inb4 on RoR they did stack (like they did stack on live) till like ~2022 or somethingleftayparxoun wrote: Thu Sep 11, 2025 11:26 am

But design is to fight outliners. So definitely a "bug" by current balance phylosophy
