could be some files are corrupted then. try running repair from launcher gog wheel.
could also be that the disk its on has bad sectors or errors that are corrupting data, though thats less likely.
edit: whoops i think i accidently removed your post or something or you deleted it yourself

Re: Important Message!
Most likely some filepermission issue.
Move the game folder out from program files if you have it there (directly to C: or D: etc).
Untick read-only by rightclicking on the Warhammer - Return of Reckoning folder and selecting properties.
Whitelist it on your firewall/antivirus

Re: Black background after launching game
Hmm. files look fine. That is pretty strange.
maybe try using DXVK to see if that makes a difference?
download the dxvk-1.10.3.tar.gz from here: https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/releases/tag/v1.10.3
extract it and copy the d3d9.dll from the x32 folder to RoR folder, next to WAR.exe

Re: [Linux] How To Install Return of Reckoning
I can confirm that I am also running into the issue where it's trying to download the whole game again. On Linux? Are you maybe using flatpak version of Lutris for whatever reason? flatpak version i think requires flatseal support to enable permissions. Stupid sandboxing stuff. IF you can do a norm...

Re: [Linux] How To Install Return of Reckoning
Hmm just in case, build both 64 and 32bit. maybe some initial hooking by wine goes through 64bit before the game launches and hooks the 32bit version. I also have 64bit prefix so that shouldn't be a problem. im getting this: $ ldconfig -p | grep basalt libvkbasalt.so (libc6,x86-64) => /usr/lib/libvk...
