Uh... The DPS on the weapons only affect your auto-attack damage. So it doesn't matter which you get for Ability damage, but I would say go for the Sword. 2 reasons 1. it goes through same stat calc as any other ability. Main hand.

You can not look at WH/WE balance from a 1v1 or gank perspective. It has to be group based. I can not say it enough that once t4 comes out these classes will be significantly better than in t3.
