Side effect, trade off. I dont think its that bad.

Playing around some more with the depth buffer, looks like its working now. So in a future update nvidia inspector shouldn't be needed anymore and this should work on any gpu.
For example, this is used for ambient occlusion:

Updated the main post, new version is out. It should work fine with lightmaps, it does for me at least. If it doesn't try clean installing the game again. I've seen all the comments about it not working so I redownloaded the game to check what's up. I actually managed to get access to the depth map, so I'm gonna update everything soon. Not sure if I can make much use of the depth map tho, it has some issues. Since this is an online game the depth buff...
