I agree. Thus the easiest way is to increase the base damage of melee tree abilities by a large margin. Keep in mind, that a lot of their dmg is aoe, so raising dmg to be viable in ST makes them too strong. Not really, it's easy to adjust. For example - big bouncin (aoe) does more damage with each ...

Like every other pet, even engi/magus melee pet with huge dodge/disrupt
Something should be done with that. Either give pets high resistance to AoE damage or make them affected by group heals.

A reasonable suggestion. Nordenwatch and Gates of Ekrund are good candidates for this I personally also like Howling Gorge. Most of that is a design failure of limiting mSH to permanently sit in squig armor and losing access to 80% of his skill set. Restarting game & launcher seems to have helped me

update: after logging 1 character once i'm back to the same loop...

update 2: apparently you cant log into Altdorf/guild tavern, doing double /stuck during loading helped me
