I don't see how this will break up the blob. What I do see is the blob migrating from BO to BO to turn in the resources much like it currently migrates from BO to BO to pick up the renown bonuses now.

In 6 seconds (5 GCD) Sorcerer can do good (let's assume that Obsessive Focus debuff is on):

Chillwind - Vison of Torment - Word of Pain - Impending Doom - Hand of Ruin

This leads to great 1-2 sec bomb, but it is not the highest 6 sec burst out there.
