Agreed, Bramwellius.In a word, No.
In more words, guard is the fundamental ability of the tank archetype.

Re: USA: BannedLANDS server
Gerv, They chose the most handsome dwarf for the guild photo shoot, but he didn't log in that night, so my toon got the gig  Playing Destro or Order, depends who's on. Either side has good classes that are interesting to play, that's all that matters. I even rolled a SM for s**ts and ...

Re: USA: BannedLANDS server
Gerv, Some ex-Immortal Guard players are here. Nom and Ryn are the most active ones. IG folded when the live server did. I played an IB named Hereward until Sarenitee aka Marraleesse persuaded me to swap to Destro. Nom runs a new guild that keeps getting jumbled when the server goes down and it's a ...

Re: USA: Gorfang Server
Marcin sold the blue seed mats cheaply. My vaults had so many of those that I started making emotes out of them in the vault screens while crafting. That's why I remember him. The 100 WL you mentioned ran NB. Once you detaunted her, the script rejected you as a target. Always made sure she was the ...

Re: [Suggestion] Making guard less OP
Annaise’s claim to have levelled a tank to 40/90 without dying from guard damage (page 3 of this thread) was so ridiculous that I gave him some mock applause. But the tone of his comment was a bit annoying: "And lol at people who say that a defensive tank has to worry about dying from guard damage. ...

Re: [Suggestion] Making guard less OP
To address just one of the comments so far, as an example of where this might lead: There's a suggestion some pages up that Guard be disabled if the guarding tank is disabled. So shouldn’t every disabled player’s active abilities be similarly disabled? Heal bubbles, group and self heals, curses, de ...

Re: [Suggestion] Making guard less OP
So the person making the original post asserts that Guard is OP but understands the mechanic so poorly that he thinks it stacks, and now people are suggesting all manner of ways to nerf a core skill of a tank?

Re: [Suggestion] Making guard less OP
A properly specced guarding tank will survive through an encounter until his healers are dead, and then he will die guarding the survivors of his party. So he'll die either from a killing blow or from guard damage. I played two tanks to 40/100 and one to 40/94 on live and anaisse, I applaud your ...

Re: [Suggestion] Making guard less OP
My DoK wants the WH stealth while healing. And a chalice that works like a BO shield. My IB wants to shoot endless doombolts out of his butt while spamming Zealot group heals. My SH wants Pounce….er, bad idea, just nerf the hell out of Pounce. “Balance” shouldn’t be about cherry-picking ski ...
