Thank you for the tip, but installing directx from below than 10 is impossible for Windows Vista end newer. DirectX 9 does come with the latest DirectX installer, and reinstalling with the offline version of DX9.0c installer, it does install some files but still did not fix it with me. If you could ...

I tried the DX standalone installer and the web-installer, but it says it already is installed and working correctly.

I, too have this problem still. As I previously found, it could indicate something about not recognizing graphic card.
Could you check debug.log inside the warhammer folder, under logs folder. You can open it with notepad.
