Oh and the problem file is not "INTERFACE.myp" in the main game directory (which for me is a 373.245mb file).
The problem file is stated to be "mappoints.xml" which as far as I can tell does not exist. Nor does the directory string.

Got the same problem here so here's my input.
1: It's not possible to delete the file at the end of this directory string:
interface/interfacecore/maps/zone039/mappoints.xml
because the file and the directory string does not exist (system search comes up with nothing when looking for mappoints ...
