  • 2026 Developer Roadmap
    -
    Image
    Hi everyone,

It’s been a little while since our last Dungeons and PvE Roadmap post. Today, in addition to sharing with you our plans for upcoming PvE and Live Event content, we’re inviting some of the other groups within the team to pitch in and share any updates they feel comfortable giving for areas like Item Balance, Class Balance, Scenarios, and even RvR!

There’s a lot to dive into, so let’s get started:

    The last year in Review:

-2025 was a busy year for our team. On the Dungeons front, the entire Lost Vale Dungeon was built and added to the game. Hunter’s Vale, Gunbad, and Bastion Stair all got re-worked and updated.
    -
-A large number of classes, from Healers to Tanks to Melee DPS, saw considerable changes last year as the balance team re-worked and updated them.
    -
-Our Voice Acting team, which started fledgling in late 2024, began to grow and expand, adding voices to Dungeons and soon the Open World. We also brought on a new video editor who has been doing a great job editing new Patch Notes video for our biggest releases!
    -
-Much of last year was also spent working on a new Scenario Matchmaker, which finally launched early this year in February. More on this and upcoming plans for scenarios below!
    -
-12 updated Live Events, 1 of them brand new, arrived last year to keep game content fresh and offer unique rewards
    -
-Behind-the-scenes, a number of improvements were made to improve both our tools and server performance
    -
-And finally, RvR saw a re-work of the Battlefield Objectives system, adding War Crest and renown bonuses tied to each, laid the foundation for many additions to come with the Random Events system, and most recently, implemented a totally new Lockout system to allow players more freedom to balance the lakes.

As we share what we’re working on for 2026, a few of the normal caveats: Everything you’re about to read is still work-in-progress, and as always, some things can and likely will change or shift timelines, so please take it all with a nice helping of salt. (Those in short supply of NaCl, worry not; it can be found all over the RvR lakes’ Region chat.)

    New Tier 3 Dungeons

    Image
    Welcome to Blood River Canyon!

Announced last year, we’re excited to confirm that the new T3 Dungeons are currently in development and are being prepared for launch this summer. We can also now share with you that these Dungeons will be unique per faction, with one tied to Karaz-a-Karak and one to Karak Eight Peaks.

RoR has always had a Dungeon gap between Sewers and Sacellum at level 15/16 and Gunbad up closer to level 36, and the introduction of this new Dungeon will give players something they can jump into starting at level 25, complete with a new armor set and other items to make grouping up and diving in worthwhile. A brand new daily quest will also be added to this Dungeon to allow players to gain a good chunk of a level every day should they complete it.

    Image
Some bosses in the T3 Dungeons will have brand new mechanics, which testers rated highly

The PvE team is starting to flex a little bit with some new mechanics that we’ve wanted to introduce for years, but never had the support to build before. Our testers have given good feedback to this so far, and we’re excited to share it with all of you when these Dungeons launch soon. These Dungeons will take us one step firmly towards more modern MMO PvE design, and we’re very much here for it.

Mechanics won’t be the only new things you see when you challenge these Dungeons. When we made Dragonback Pass (our new starter Dungeon), we took an unused scenario map and spent a ton of time populating it and touching it up to make it viable. This time, we’ve got our hands on something very special, which we’ve been excited to have for years - so let’s talk about that next:

A new way to Build the Warhammer World

    Image
The new Terrain Editor opens up huge potential for custom future maps

Our new T3 Dungeons are being built with our new Terrain Editor, allowing us to sculpt and paint the world in ways never before possible. This means that everything you’ll experience in these Dungeons will be built from the ground-up, and once we start to gain practice and experience with this tool, with enough time and support, we’ll be able to start building even more. New Dungeons may be where we’re starting, but we’re just as excited to see what other new things can be built with it in the future!

In the background, and though it’s not quite there yet, we’re also making significant strides towards getting lightmaps working. This means we might someday be able to add things like glows from torches and fires, shadows from large objects, and more to bring these new maps to life, and perhaps someday, to give a big facelift to other new maps, like the Dwarf and Greenskin capital cities. In the meantime though, one step at a time, and this new Terrain Editor is a huge step for us.

TOVL and the Land of the Dead

    Image
The Tomb of the Vulture Lord is filled with traps, treasure, and the game's most challenging Boss fights

    -
A request that we know many players have been excited for since our very first Dungeons Roadmap, we can now share that we’ve begun work on the Land of the Dead’s sandbox state, which will allow players to participate in Public Quests, find secrets, and take on the Four Tombs to earn special items. The weekly expedition will remain, but now you’ll be able to explore the sands of Zandri alone or with friends. We’ve already begun development on the Tombs. Our next Dungeon, Tomb of the Vulture Lord, will be starting development in the coming months, with testing expected to start later this year. Who knows what other hidden things lie waiting to be discovered in the sands?

    RvR Campaign Changes

    Image
The new RvR Lockout system is now being tested, and the overall Campaign will be getting attention next

First: Let’s talk about Lockouts. After many years of player discussion, we’re now testing a new Lockout system that allows players to swap freely between the factions, and as of the latest patch, you can now bypass the Renown and War Crest lockout, provided you swap to a side that has AAO while you’re playing there. New Tutorial quests to explain this are also now in the game once you reach level 17. We’re watching the impacts of this new system closely in the hopes it can lead to more balanced lakes; only time will tell!

Random Events: The team is working on fixes to the Random Events system now, with the hopes that the new AAO-focused King of the Hill event can be fixed and operational in the near future. We'll share more news on this once it's ready.

Next up: The Campaign. We’ve heard feedback for years now wishing that the Campaign could have more meaning and purpose. On the live server, and even here in RoR for a time, it did. The game was less about just farming kills for Crests and all about pushing keeps and coordinating forts to attack the enemy city. With the arrival of unified currency, it’s no surprise that players have lost a lot of the motivation for a faction to tackle the big challenges or to organize to overcome them, and many tend to focus on farming the single currency needed for all end-game gear.

This year, we’re going to start slowly shifting back in the game’s original direction, with a bigger focus on Campaign progression centered around the return of City Sieges to the RvR campaign. Perhaps just as important, and for the first time ever in Return of Reckoning: today we can also announce that we’ve begun preliminary work on the return of Captured Cities!

    Captured Cities

    Image
Factions who won a city siege could originally challenge enemy Warlords, and even Faction Leaders

Captured Cities were a key part of Mythic’s original vision for the game, and were accomplished if a faction pushed all the way to the enemy city, and then won the majority of the instances within. While captured, the attacking faction could challenge special 24-man Warlord and King Raids.

Our vision for Captured Cities will inherit many of Mythic’s goals, then will add a lot of our own to make these cities accessible for even more players and improve upon the system entirely. The 24-man PvE Raids are already on our list - think of these like instanced, more challenging versions of Chapter 22 - and the team is also considering other things to add to make the captured City States something all players can join in.

There are still many details to be ironed out about the specifics of how we introduce these (historically, we saw many cities pushed during off-hours and far fewer during prime time), so please don’t panic yet about worrying whether or not you’ll get to experience these more or less than others. These details are things we’ll be discussing internally over the coming months, and we’ll share more details on the reintroduction of both City Sieges in the RvR Campaign and the brand new versions of Captured Cities as we get closer to their release.

    Scenarios

    Image
Less-popular Scenarios, like Talabec Dam, will be getting entirely updated mechanics

Scenarios have seen a significant improvement in their matchmaking recently, resulting in fewer one-sided stomps and closer, better-balanced games. The trade-off has been that fewer matches are popping. The Scenarios team, now supported by some new faces, made further adjustments in the last patch that should allow the matchmaker to begin scenarios even if one team is missing heals, or missing tanks, provided that both teams are lacking the same.

Playing the Objective: In our most recent patch, we lowered the amount of Renown gained for farming the enemy team, but increased the Renown gained for playing the objective and winning the scenario. In many cases, this may result in a net gain to Renown earned via scenarios, and a reduction in XP.

    New Focus Group:
A brand new Scenarios Focus group was formed up over the last few months, and they’ve been working closely with the new SC team on ideas and improvements for Scenarios across the board.

New Scenario Weekly: Many players pointed out the inconsistency with a 3-day Scenario Weekend event compared to RvR and Dungeons, which each get full 7-day Weekly events to complete. In the future, we’re going to bring Scenarios in line with their own new Weekly Event so players can participate, no matter which days of the week you get to play. (We’re still working out if Weekend Warfronts will change and the details surrounding them, so stay tuned for more info on this soon.)

New Scenario Mechanics: Lastly, another key area that the team is working on are improvements to some of the least popular Scenarios. Talabec Dam, which was impressively rated near the very bottom in player enjoyment, is in testing now with a brand new proximity-based mechanic that will see the Giant moving to automatically place the bomb as long as a team is near him. The more players of one team near him, the faster he gets prodded to the other team’s bomb site. This brand new mechanic will go into testing in the coming months.

    Class Balance
    Image
Since the start of this year, the Balance Team has been busy concepting, reviewing, and proposing new ideas for all six Range DPS classes within the game. Each proposal is now complete, and with our focus groups for their feedback.

We’re excited to confirm that work on these class updates will begin in June, and you can expect to see and hear more on these changes this arriving summer. This will include updates for Engineer, Magus, Shadow Warrior, Squig Herder, Bright Wizard, and Sorcerer.

Some of these changes will empower existing play styles and others will offer brand new takes, so we’re looking forward to seeing what players think very soon.

    Itemization Updates

    Image
New PvP Weapon Upgrades, including the Supremacy and Infamy lines, are being added

In the last two patches, we started a long overdue re-balancing of items, which began with weapons and lower level armor and jewelry. We realize nobody enjoys logging in and seeing that their weapon lost some stats, but the benefit is that we’re finally fixing and correcting many years of stat inflation or incorrect stats entirely, as many previous devs all interpreted the rules differently. Some of our stat rules have changed recently, and you can read these on the RoR wiki here.

In the most recent patch, we updated many of the mid-game and end-game Jewelry Sets, like Genesis, Lost Vale Rings, Annulus Rings, and more.

We also recently added two new tiers of Genesis Accessories for players to upgrade to. The gains on these upgrades are fairly small, but serve as stepping stones to give players more options in a pure PvP path that they can upgrade into. Our stance of having some items exclusive to PvE and some to PvP remains, but this will add some love to the PvP side of things, which hasn’t seen as many new items in the last few years as PvE has.

In the July patch, we’ll be tackling the final piece of the puzzle, which is Armor Sets and end-game armor set bonuses.

Part of the benefit of fixing many of these items and bringing them in line is that it’s now easy for us to expand options for players without worrying about stat-creep, and you’re going to see some of that arriving in July:

    New War Crest Weapons:
We’ll be introducing a new tier of Weapon above Anathema and Reverence, which are called Supremacy for Order and Infamy for Destruction. These will be purchased for War Crests, and require the tome unlock for having the Reverence or Anathema tier.

Triumphant and Victorious Ring costs: As you may have seen, we’re going to be lowering the cost of Triumphant and Victorious Rings down to 2,000 War Crests instead of their current 9999. We’ll also have a vendor set up so that players who purchased these at the 9999 price can get a refund on crests.

New End-game Talismans: We agree that having something to work towards at end-game is nice, so as we remove the end-game grind from these rings, we’ll also be introducing new +25 Talismans for players to work towards. These Talismans will require significant resources to create, including an existing +24 of the same type, and will help us shift from a huge stat jump after 9999 crests into a much more modest +10 total stat gain for players who put in the effort, with many likely getting a +1 here and there as they progress to 80-85. We'll share more news on how players can earn these Talismans soon.

    Updated Renown Trainer

Later this year, we’ll also be updating the Renown Trainer to fall in line with the new stat values that we follow for all items. In its current design, some of the gains for Renown are hugely worthwhile and very cheap, while others are a bit too expensive and very rarely taken.

We’ve begun work now to revisit the Renown Trainer to bring all of these costs in line and make them uniform, so that all players are getting the same values for the points they spend, be it in offense or defense. We’re hoping to also update the vanilla UI for this while we’re at it, as we feel that the Advanced Renown Trainer add-on does a much better job of showing players the upgrade paths, but we’re still very early on this, so please stay tuned for more news in future patches.

    Live Event Roadmap

Finally today, we’d also like to share with you a roadmap for the upcoming Live Events you can expect to see this Summer:
    Image

On June 12th, mark your calendars for the special 3-week Live Event Twilight’s Tide, complete with specialized crafting as players forge, stockpile, and trade special Annulus Rings!

In mid-July, prepare to build or settle grudges as Live Event Saga makes a special return, and in mid-August, hold your halflings close and fire up those ovens because Pie Week is on its way, complete with special 1-hour Pie buffs (similar to Liniments), the return of apple bobbing, and what some* call the game’s greatest temporary mount: the Pig.

*”Some” players specifically means Rubius, and does not include Ekalime, who writes, and we quote: “The pig mount is stupid and not even that lore friendly.” Ruby would like to apologize for Eka’s lack of taste and appreciation of this wonderful mount.

    Thank you!

Whew, that was a lot to cover! That’s all we’ve got for this Roadmap on what you can expect to see and hear as we move through 2026. We hope you enjoyed this look behind the curtain, and we appreciate your support and your feedback as the various teams continue their work to bring Return of Reckoning to life; not just to restore it, but to bring it back even better than it was before. It wouldn’t be possible without the support of many players like you that keep us motivated, so thank you for being here, and for keeping the game alive with us.

Until next time, thanks for reading!

    Live Event: Wild Hunt
    Image

Every year Orion's rebirth in the Wood Elf realm of Athel Loren marks the start of Spring. With Orion's rebirth the Wild Hunt begins, as elves across Athel Loren join the King in the Woods in riding forth and purging the forest of its enemies. This is all done as an offering to the elven God of the Hunt, Kurnous. Enemies of Kurnous beware, for you may become an offering during the Wild Hunt.

The Wild Hunt is upon the Elves, and Ulthuan is already sodden with blood. Hunters stalk the fields and forests in search of rare and savage prey, to demonstrate their skill to the God of the Hunt and perhaps gain his favor. Others seek merely to glimpse the fabled White Stag and gain Kurnous's blessing. But Kurnous is a true hunter, and incurring his wrath carries a price ... of poetic justice.

Kurnous has taken particular interest in the activities of the mere mortals, ever eager to find which hunter is truly worthy. As the Wild Hunt commences, vines from the World Root have sprung up in Ellyrion. Beyond those vines lay the Hunter's Vale, sanctuary of Kurnous. All who dare can enter to see if they are worthy to face the Lord of the Hunt. Though be forewarned, nature itself will turn against those who enter the Hunter's Vale.

Travel to Ellyrion, the kingdom beloved by Kurnous, and find the Vale Vines to his inner sanctum, the Hunter's Vale. During the Wild Hunt, some may be lucky enough to catch sight of the White Stag as it wanders along the southern coast and ranges of Ulthuan. Join the Wild Hunt in honour of Kurnous and prove to the Lord of the Hunt if you are worthy of being a hunter, or the prey.

This event will run between May 14th and May 26th.

    Rewards
    Basic: [Stag Skull Trophy]
Advanced: [Bleeding Hart Charm] (Check the armoury for other variants)
Elite: [Blessed Hide of Kurnous] Preview here, or the Deepwood Cloak at the top of the gallery here

Quest Rewards: The Stag of Kurnous or the Stag of Isha (or the Daemonwood Disc for the Magus), live-event themed limited time mounts. You can preview the Mounts here and Magus Disc here.

    Live Event Quests
This year's Wild Hunt includes new quests to acquire your sacred-stag mounts. These quests are broken up into four brackets based on your character level and have different tasks accordingly. Make sure to read any text in all-caps. Additionally, there is a repeatable quest requiring players to beat the Hunter's Vale, with unique limited-time prizes. All quests are available from Live-Event related NPCs: Hethoac Evertrue in the Altdorf Market Square, or Karalith Raemari in the Inevitable City Apex.

Live Event Shoppe & Limited Time Dyes
Ah beautiful colors, what would the world be without beautiful colors? Better without blinding yellow no doubt. This Wild Hunt we are happy to introduce 32 new colors to RoR, two of which are spec-tacular dyes which may make a leprechaun out of a dwarf. Ten of these new dyes are added permanently in the game as drops from the Hunter's Vale bosses; four new optional heroes have been added to Hunter's Vale for those seeking to expand their dye pursuits. The remaining dyes, along with some unique items, are available at the live event vendor. Trophies are displayed in this link for your convenience. In the spirit of the Wood Elves, all good things are fleeting, cherish them while you can. Order players can find Thealyn Rosethorn in the Altdorf Market. Destruction players can find Rakaan Savageblood in the Inevitable City Apex.

Dye previews are available here towards the bottom, but please be aware that the colors may apply differently on different base armor colors. We recommend to use an addon such as Pocket Palette to see how this dye will look on your armor, but please note it may take a few days before the add-on is updated. These colors were inspired largely from official publications, such as the Wood Elf 8th Ed. army book.

    RvR
    Image

This patch sees a number of updates to the new RvR Lockout system, fixing some bugs and adding new functionality to further motivate helping the underdog faction:

    - The Lockout debuff has been reduced to 60 minutes.
    - The Lockout debuff should no longer have any effect if you are also under the effect of Against All Odds.
    - If the AAO buff vanishes, the debuff will once again apply if the timer is still running.
    - Activities in T1 should not trigger the realmlock
    - Supplyboxes collisions has been reduced, we cannot remove it fully but this means you can effectively walk over them. Note that since we cannot remove collision entirely and keep its function it means that if the box is not on the ground then it will still cause blocking issues and we are looking at this as well but was not done in time for this update.

    Land of the Dead

    - Land of the Dead expeditions can now occur at a wider range of possible times.

    - For players in West Coast NA and Oceanic times, this may help make joining these more realistic than before.

The existing EU time slots are still in the mix, and now we'll rotate between a wider variance of times each month so more players are able to participate in these expeditions.

    Scenario
    Image

    Rewards rework

Scenario rewards have been reworked, so the renown and XP rewards to emphasize points rather kills to a greater extent.

    - Renown for points is increased significantly.
    - XP for points get a slight increase.
    - Renown & XP for kills is reduced by 75%
    - Scenario medals now also give renown & XP, in addition to the crest.
    - Crests at the end of scenarios are increased.
    - Scenarios with a longer duration get a time bonus, in both renown, XP and crest rewards.

    General
    - Sacellum Arena now uses fixed spawn points for both factions (random spawns removed)
    - Respawn timer reduced to 60 seconds (previously 10 minutes)
    - The Order spawn area in Black Crag Keep has been repainted so players can move around before the scenario starts.

    Content
    Image

    New Tutorial Quest

    - A new Tutorial Quest is now sent via in-game mail to players who achieve Character Rank 17. This quest explains the RvR Lockout system, how the system works, and the exception granted for playing on the side with AAO. It's a very short quest that also grants two gold to players to make it worth completing.

    Chapter 22

    - Destruction's run up to the Reikland Chapter 22 has had the amount of hostile mobs reduced. Specifically, the "Reiksguard Training Grounds" PQ now has a new first stage, requiring players to kill two neutral mobs to trigger the hostile second stage to begin. While some hostile mobs still remain, this should make it a bit easier for players to return solo.

    Dungeon: Gunbad

    - The Brew potions in Mount Gunbad now have an 18-hour cooldown before they can be repeated.

    Quests
    - A repeatable quest has been added in Bastion Stair upon completing the main questline (like the quest 'Tempering Rage' to obtain Liquid Serenity). This quest will allow players to get additional Fleshborne Gems, though keep in mind these jewelry items are still unique-equipped.

    - A new repeatable quest has been added to the Tome Unlock vendor in Bastion Stair (the Free Company Knight or Grulgaar the Maker - left side of the lobby) to acquire a Bloodlord Cloak in case you accidentally destroyed your previous one. You must have the Tome Unlock for equipping the Bloodlord Cloak to purchase the quest item and start the quest.

    Itemization
    Image
    Weapons
    - Stats adjusted to conform with adjusted proc costs (20% cost reduction across all tiers; i.e. from 10/20/40 to 8/16/32).
    - "Spike" has been removed from Subjugator/Fortress weapons and replaced with "Vitalize" for Zealots and "Barricade" for Warrior Priests/Disciples of Khaine.
    - Bloodlord has been changed from a 10% armor/toughness bane to a flat 180 armor and 30 toughness bane.
    - Normalized the critical hit/reduction bonuses on the one-handed "of Doom", "of Misery", "Feaster's", and "Great Bashin'" weapons.

    Jewelry
    - Now conform to the new stat distribution system (does not include jewelry which are part of an armor set, which will be updated in an upcoming patch). Jewelry pieces/sets updated include : War Crest sets on the Genesis Vendor; Genesis sets; LotD Expedition sets; Tome Unlock sets; the Vainglorious set; city-PQ rings in all four cities; individual jewelry pieces from the Sewers/Sacellum, Hunter's Vale, Mount Gunbad, Bastion Stair; Blood-Iron Rings; Vale Rings; Annulus rings; Fleshrender; and Chapter Influence rings.
    - Item levels/rarity are no longer arbitrary, and should now correctly match the level of the expected content.
    - Genesis set "of the Undying" has been made universally available to all careers.
    - Genesis set "of the Everlasting" has been made available to Disciples of Khaine and Warrior Priests.
    - "of the Bulwark" and "of the Guardian" sets have been made available to Disciples of Khaine and Warrior Priests.
    - New upgraded versions of the Genesis sets have been added to the game! You can find ilvl 55 "Forebearer" and ilvl 65 "Progenitor" versions placed on new vendors in each capital city's war quarter. Each upgrade requires the previous tier plus 10 Genesis Crests to purchase.
As before, please be on the lookout for any jewelry that may have been missed and file a Bug Report if found.

    Triumphant/Victorious Ring Notice
    - As part of the next phase of the armor-set rework, we would like to inform the players that the cost of Triumphant/Victorious rings will be reduced to 2000 War Crests. Existing rings will be removed from the armor set, and players will be able to trade in their old rings/replicas for a box that will contain the new set ring and a refund of insignia/war crests.

    Loot Groups
    - All major categories of PvE/PvP loot groups have been analyzed and updated. As a result, hundreds of missing items have been made and added - primarily of the 'Very Rare'/Purple rarity. A large portion of the new items were for the classes that were released post-launch on live (KotBS, BG, Slayer, Choppa), but many other classes were randomly missing items.

    - Adept's (Level 3 Rare/Blue) will now drop for level 3-4 players. Storm-Courser's (Level 9 Rare/Blue) will drop for level 9-10 players. Gore-Splattered (Level 11 Very Rare/Purple) will now drop for level 11-12 players. Ardent (Level 33 Rare/Blue) and Steadfast (Level Very Rare/Purple) will now drop for level 33-34 players. Of Aggression (Level 36 Uncommon/Green); Aggressor's (Level 36 Rare/Blue), of the Harrier (Level 36 Very Rare/Purple) will now drop for level 36 players. Of Maiming (Level 38 Uncommon/Green) will now drop for level 38 players.

    - The Genesis Vendor in Altdorf has been moved outside by the Reverence Weapon vendor, and the items have been split by tier.
    - Weapon Skill to Initiative talisman conversions at the Soulstone Vendor have been removed. This was supposed to be a temporary offer when the value of Weapon Skill talismans was changed 1.5 years ago.
    - As per previous patch notes, the Overlord/Imperator, and Smuggler vendors have been disabled as these items are retired for the time being.
    - As part of the ongoing itemization rework, armor/weapon vendors in the capital cities will be reorganized in an upcoming patch. The goal of this is is to create a more user-friendly and intuitive distribution of vendors, so we do not have one vendor with weapons and armor, and another with only armor; and to split Order and Destruction items between vendors. Some vendors will be relocated, and some items may shift from one vendor to another.

    General
    - Live Event related dyes that come from boxes (Eastern Wyvern/Mitterfruhl eggs, and Daemon Moon Rising Pan de Monium) will now sell for a small amount of silver, primarily for the ease of cleaning the inventory.

  • X2 Crests & Renown Weekend May 2026
    Image

We’ll be running double crests and renown starting Friday, May 1st and carrying it through the weekend until around 10:00 AM on Monday, May 4th.

This is our way of saying we appreciate everyone’s patience today with the server restart and the hiccup that led to the extended downtime.

If you’ve been looking for a good stretch to push renown ranks, finish out gear, or just spend some time in scenarios and the lakes, this is it. Crests and Renown you earn during the event will be doubled.

Get out there, run with a group or go solo and make the most of it while it’s active.

    Live Event: Mitterfruhl

Click here to watch on YouTube

    Image

Spring is in the air, and with the celebrations of Mitterfruhl, brave warriors scour the lands for the perfect griffon egg to offer to the gods. Only the largest and most beautifully painted eggs will serve to gain Sigmar's favor. Worshippers of Taal & Rhya sacrifice spring lambs for the promise of a bumper harvest in Autumn.

Mitterfruhl marks the start of the spring season. Daring warriors search across the lands for the largest griffon eggs, which they will attempt to paint beautifully to offer to their chosen gods. Join your realm in securing griffon eggs and earning the favor of your gods, so that it may last you throughout the summer! Let the egg hunt begin!

Mitterfruhl will start on April 3rd and last until April 14th.

    Rewards
Basic reward: 10x[Griffon Eggs] or a 10x[Mitterfruhl Dye Box]
Advanced reward: 20x[Griffon Eggs], [Potion of Acclaim], or an [Eggschange Egg] - a currency used to buy unique trophies for this live event.
Elite reward: [Griffon Training Whistle] - an item that you can combine with a Griffon Egg to extend the duration of your mount.

    Griffon Egg Hunt
Griffons have descended from the mountains in droves to lay their precious eggs in locations they thought were safe. Unfortunately for the griffons, Mitterfruhl brings out daring adventurers who scour the lands for the largest and most beautiful egg that they can offer as sacrifice to the god of their choosing. Citizens of Altdorf traditionally offer griffon eggs to Sigmar, while the followers of Tzeentch know that the Raven God has a taste for exotic feathered creatures.

Join the adventurers from around the world as they hunt for Griffon Eggs. Griffon Eggs can be found in all Tier 1 through 4 maps, and Karaz-a-Karak and Karak Eight Peaks. However, be careful, for eggs in Tier 2, 3, and 4 maps can summon a dangerous Griffon Matriarch. Claim an egg and see what prize it has inside for you. If you are lucky enough to find an intact Wild Griffon Egg, you can trade it in at your capital for a Wild Griffon mount. You can check out the mounts here and the magus discs here.

Additionally, players will progress an action counter as interact with Griffon Eggs in the open world, allowing them to earn unique Egg trophies in many colors, which can be seen here.

    Painted Eggs
Lucky players may Wild Griffon Eggs inside their Griffon Egg, or perhaps even a rare Mitterfruhl dye. Combine the two to make a painted egg and offer it to the Temple for your faction. Contributing painted eggs will progress an action counter, which will allow you to earn custom tradeable egg trophies. Gift these eggs to someone and bring a smile to their face.

    The Golden Griffon
Active RvR lakes will randomly spawn a Golden Griffon, which will grant buffs to those who find it. Keep your eyes out for a Gold Griffon relic and claim its fame for yourself, for a 6 hour +25% renown, XP and influence boost.

    Live Event Dyes
Twelve custom dyes are available only in the Griffon Eggs, including 3 specular dyes. Other Empire-themed dyes can be purchased at vendors in your capital city. Grab the dyes while you can!

Dye previews are available here towards the bottom, but please be aware that the colors may apply differently on different base armor colors. We recommend to use an addon such as Pocket Palette to see how this dye will look on your armor.

    Special Thanks
We would like to thank our art team for their continued dedication to RoR. Thanks to their efforts we were able to expand our bestiary with some beautiful new Griffon reskins, and over 30 new egg trophies for collectors to gather.

    RvR Lockout System

In today's patch, we're making big changes to how the RvR Lockout system works, based in part on a community suggestion from last year that we liked. While the current system locks you in place on a faction the moment you swap factions and then step into the lakes, it also has the not-as-great effect of sometimes locking you many hours after your last login.

Under the new system, here's how things will work:

    - Lockouts now begin their timer when you gain renown in the RvR lakes.

    - Even when locked out, you can now still login to the other faction.

    - Lockout now gives you a debuff with a 90 minute timer (from your last renown gain) that blocks XP, Influence, Renown, Contribution and any rolls/drops of crests in the RvR lakes.

    - Scenarios, as well as PvE and Dungeon drops outside of the RvR lakes, are unaffected by the lockout.

We'll be trialing this new lockout system over the coming weeks, and we'd like to hear everyone's feedback on it once you get some time to see it in action. Please also let us know about any bugs you might spot here on the bugtracker.

New RvR Random Encounter: King of the Hill

A new RvR Random Encounter called King of the Hill is being introduced in today's patch. This Random Event is designed around AAO and giving outnumbered warbands a challenging (and hopefully rewarding!) event to participate in. Here's how it works:

    - When either realm is outnumbered by 20% or more (AAO), and as long as one warband+ of players from both factions are on the map, a special non-attackable NPC has a chance to spawn at a strategic location in the RvR lake. This NPC will broadcast a call to arms exclusively to the underdog team.

    - A Warband Leader with at least 16 members may speak to the NPC to accept the challenge and begin the King of the Hill event at their location.

    - How to win: The Warband Leader must survive and defend their current location for 10 minutes. If the enemy fails to kill them or does not show up, their entire faction wins and is granted winner bonuses (below). If the Warband Leader is killed, the event ends in victory for the outnumbering team.

    - To help Leaders survive the incoming hordes, they are granted bonus Wounds, Outgoing Damage, Outgoing Healing, and a reduction to Incoming Damage, and grow in size, similar to how the King Fights work in Stage 3 of City Sieges.

    - Upon activation, the Leader's location is also marked on the map for the enemy faction, and the larger faction becomes alerted to the event starting. The 10 Minute timer starts instantly, giving them some time to plan and prepare their assault to kill the enemy leader.

    - To assist the outnumbered Warband, the Leader may also designate two "Lieutenants" from within their party within the first 90 seconds of the event starting. These Lieutenants also grow in size and gain similar powerful Outgoing Damage, Outgoing Healing, and Incoming Damage reduction buffs, bolstering and marking them as the Warband Leader's most trusted champions to face the enemy horde with.

    - The power of the buffs scales based on how severely the underdog realm is outnumbered. There are three tiers of buffs, with the first for 20-40% AAO, a more powerful version for 60-100% AAO, and the most powerful version from 120% AAO up. All buffs last 10 minutes, and are removed upon death or upon leaving the King of the Hill event area.

    Event Rewards:

Rewards are distributed to all winning players, not just those in the participating warbands, in the immediate area when the event concludes.

If victorious, the Underdog Faction Wins:

    - 20%–40% AAO: 15 Warcrests
    - 60%–100% AAO: 30 Warcrests + Choice of one top-tier crafting material through the use of a token.
    - 120%+ AAO: 40 Warcrests + Renown Potion + Choice of one top-tier crafting material through the use of a token.

If victorious, the Outnumbering Faction Wins

    - 20% AAO: 15 Warcrests
    - 40% AAO: 10 Warcrests
    - 60%+ AAO: 5 Warcrests

While we expect it may be very difficult to win this event in huge AAO cases (if you're fighting one warband vs three or four), the goal is to give enough extra damage and healing to the outnumbered team to carve through and still get a good amount of kills and renown, even if they do ultimately get overwhelmed by numbers in the end.

    Developer note:
As testing this event behind-the-scenes is tricky, we'll be watching closely for any bugs as the event starts to pop up, just in case there's anything that needs fixing. If you spot bugs as it starts out, please make a bugreport with as much detailed information as possible.

    Lost Vale
Today we're adding a number of adjustments to make secret boss Seraxes feel fairer, and patching up a small exploit used on another secret boss:

    Seraxes:
    - Reduced Seraxes Bone Splinters from 4 to 3 targets, and reduced the overall damage of this dot by about 15%.
    - Seraxes AOE punt is now single target and will generally hit the tank.
    - The damage of Enraged Charge has been reduced by ~20%.
    - The boss will now display: "Seraxes begins to charge!" text in say chat when starting Enraged Charge.
    - Seraxes reset radius has been increased, so he is less likely to reset mid-fight.
    - As part of his increased radius, additional Musks have been added to this encounter.

    Syndestra:
    - Mirrored the same nerfs to Seraxes listed above on the Spirit of Seraxes that spawns during this fight.
    - Added two pillars to block a terrain exploit that could result in the Spirit Bosses not spawning.

    Chapter 22

    Dammaz Skar (Dwarf Ch. 22):

    - Gorfang Rotgut's range on his Gork Sez mechanics has been slightly reduced to avoid impacting players farming Wyverns. (Those near the fight may still be hit.)

    - The Gork's Gift mechanic, which must be cleansed, will now also announce impacted players via text in your chat log. This should help if the skull icon VFX fails to display.

    - Gorfang Rotgut's HP has been increased by ~5%. (In high DPS groups, this should reduce Gork Sez mechanics stacking on top of each other.)

    Slayer Keep (Greenskin Ch. 22):
    - Ungrim Ironfist's HP has been increased slightly, and is now mirrored to Gorfang Rotgut.

    Dragonback Pass

    - Audio in the intro sections can now play on top of each other, speeding up each intro by about 5 seconds.
    - We previously had pauses to ensure audio didn't mute itself; this will help us create faster dialogue going forward.

    Scenarios
    Image

    Scenario Queue Notification
    - Added an audio notification to alert players when a scenario becomes available. This will only trigger while the game client is in focus.

    Talabec Dam
    - Added new terrain barriers to prevent players from attacking the enemy while above their spawn camp

    Itemization
    Image

The team has concluded a review of the itemization rules and created a new unified system. As there are tens of thousands of items in the database, we are fixing itemization in a few phases. In this patch, we have initiated our rework by reviewing and fixing weapons, and most quest/PvE influence rewards/world drops (the Tier 4 PvE rework is still ongoing, and quest rewards there are still awaiting an overhaul). Due to the high amount of items, it is possible we missed something, so if you think a quest/influence/weapon was overlooked, please let us know.

In the next phase, we will be tackling accessory sets and individual accessory pieces. Once that phase is complete and live, we will be fixing armor pieces that are part of armor sets, and set bonuses. As mentioned in the recent Itemization update, please don't worry too much yet about your Triumphant or Victorious rings - we'll talk more about these and any plans around these sets once they get reviewed.

More on the rules can be seen here.

    Weapons

    - All Weapons now conform to the new stat distribution system.
As the number of weapons that have been modified is in the thousands, please be on the lookout for any that may have been missed and file a Bug Report if found.

    RvR Weapons

    Besieger
    - A brand new line of weapons have been added to the Genesis Crest vendor with the suffix "of the Besieger". These weapons effectively replace the old Smuggler line, and are the introductory weapons into the Subjugator/Fortress line. These weapons are usable at character rank 36, and with their high stats should greatly help new players transition into T4 RvR. They can be purchased with 5 Genesis Crests for one-handed weapons and 10 Genesis Crests for two-handed weapons, and are used to trade-in for Subjugator weapons.

    Subjugator
    - Subjugator weapons are no longer purchased outright with Genesis Crests, and are instead purchased by trading in the previous-tier Besieger weapons in addition to a reduced Genesis Crest (cost reduction equal to the cost of the traded-in Besieger weapon). For example, a two-handed Subjugator weapon which previously cost 30 Genesis Crests will now cost only 20 Genesis Crests plus the previous-tier two-handed Besieger weapon.
    - To streamline the upgrade from Besieger, Trollsmasher and Deathsword have been retired from the vendors. These weapons will still be available for trade-in to Fortress.

    Fortress
    - Nine brand-new Fortress weapons have been added. These new weapons are the Fortress Emberstave, Fortress Ninestaff, Fortress Crusher, Fortress Edge (previous Fortress Edge has been renamed to Fortress Xiphos), Fortress Dharstaff, Fortress Hunter's Axe, Fortress Makhaira, Fortress Maul, and Fortress Flintlock. In addition, more Subjugator trade-in options have been added to the vendors.

    Dungeon Weapons

    Madcap
    - Increased to item level 50. The sell prices of these weapons have also been corrected to the proper sell prices; be sure to take the Gunbad Gemstones from reward bags if you want to maximize your gold income from selling items at the vendor!

    Darkpromise
    - Increased to item level 65.

    Scenario Weapons

    - Stats now follow a natural progression all the way from the lowest tier (Merit/Worth) to the highest tier (Anathema/Reverence), and no longer change stats seemingly at random across various tiers.
    - As we plan for the future, the "Guardian's" prefix of Anathema/Reverence weapons have been retired from the vendors.

    Looking Ahead

    - In the following patch (May 2026), the vendors for the Smuggler weapons, Imperator armor, and Overlord armor will be permanently retired. Though these items are now a relic of days long gone, this is your last chance to purchase them if you so desire to.

    Bug Fixes
    Image
    - [25282] Mork is Watchin' now applies 10 Magical Crit for all abilitites.
    - [25157] Rapid Fire now properly requires Action Points over the full channel.
    - [25240] Prayer of Devotion now has its 2 second internal cooldown working again.
    - [25261] On Your Knees! will no longer knockdown when both hits are defended.
    - [25284] Runic Shield now gives you Grudge when hit by non-physical damage instead of magical spells (matching the behaviour of the absorb).
    - [25241] All lifesteal abilities and tactics are now consistent with one another and all have a maximum range of 150. Changes have been made to the following abilities/tactics: Benediction, Khaine's Encouragement, Divine Strike (base heal only), Consume Essence (base heal only), Balance Essence, I'll Take That!, Energy of Vaul, Fury of da Green, Charged Fury, Rune of Fortune (was 100 ft before), Boon of Tzeentch (was 100 ft before).
    - [24936] Look At Dem! now part of You'z Squishy instead of being seperate effect.
    - [25217] Blade Spin additional critical hit chance based on health percentage of the enemy is now working.
    - [25231] Purgatory can no longer be refreshed (Shadow of Death was already working correctly).
    - [24942] Fixed 'Passwatch' weapons having lower item levels than intended.
    - Get'n Smarter now classified as Damage over Time ability.
    - Master of Force now also increases the critical healing chance of the intelligence based heals (Balance Essence, Energy of Vaul and Transfer Force).
